Stick Studio Pro now carries official age ratings on the Microsoft Store, generated through the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) on September 8, 2026. If you are a parent, teacher or creator, you have probably seen a row of small icons on our site and wondered what they say. This guide explains each one in plain English.

What Is IARC?
IARC is a coalition of rating boards from around the world. Instead of sending an app to every country's board one by one, a developer answers one questionnaire about the app's content and features. IARC turns those answers into ratings for many regions at once, and participating stores such as the Microsoft Store display them. That is why one app can show an ESRB icon, a PEGI icon and a USK icon together.
The Ratings, One by One
IARC 3+
This is the coalition's own generic rating, used in regions that do not have a rating board taking part. 3+ is the lowest step on the scale: the content is considered suitable for anyone from age 3 up.
ESRB: Everyone
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates games and apps in the US and Canada. "Everyone" is its broadest category, meaning the content is generally suitable for all ages.
PEGI 3
PEGI (Pan European Game Information) uses age steps of 3, 7, 12, 16 and 18. PEGI 3 is the lowest: suitable for all age groups. The web address printed under the number, pegi.info, is PEGI's own site where you can look up how ratings work.
USK 0
The Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) rates games in Germany. Its steps are 0, 6, 12, 16 and 18. USK 0 means approved with no age restriction.
PCBP 0+
The Russian Age Rating System uses 0+, 6+, 12+, 16+ and 18+. A 0+ rating means the content is suitable for all ages.
DJCTQ 14
Brazil's advisory rating system uses the steps L (all ages), 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. A rating of 14 signals that the content is not recommended for children under 14. This is the highest rating Stick Studio Pro received, and it shows that regions do not always agree: each rating authority applies its own standards, so the same app can land on different numbers in different countries.
CCC: TE
The Consejo de Calificacion Cinematografica (CCC) is Chile's rating council. "TE" stands for "Todo Espectador" (all audiences), and the label at the top of the icon reads "Toda edad" (all ages). This rating is mapped by Microsoft from the IARC result.
Microsoft Store 3+
The Microsoft Store shows its own age label on every listing. For Stick Studio Pro it is 3+, mapped from the IARC result, so the store page and the rating notice agree.
What "In-App Purchases" Means
Most of our ratings list in-app purchases as an interactive element. This is a notice, not an age limit: it tells shoppers that the app offers optional paid features. The Microsoft Store app itself is free and nothing is sold there: Pro plans are bought only on our website through PayPal. What an Age Rating Does Not Cover
An age rating describes the app itself. Animations that people create and share on other platforms are their own content, so parents of younger users may still want to look at what their children make and post. IARC's terms also state that ratings do not imply or guarantee compliance with the rules that apply to advertising, marketing or selling a product in any region. Will the Rating Change?
Ratings apply to the product as it was submitted. If a future update would change the questionnaire answers, the questionnaire has to be completed again and new ratings are generated. A regional rating authority can also revise its rating. If either happens, we will update the ratings on the Microsoft Store and on this website.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Stick Studio Pro suitable for children? The ratings are 3+ or all ages in most regions and 14 in Brazil. A rating is a guide, not a guarantee, so a parent or teacher who knows the child is still the best judge.
Why does Brazil show 14 when other regions show all ages? Each rating authority applies its own standards, so results can differ between countries.

Is Stick Studio Pro free? Yes. The free plan is fully usable, and Pro is optional.
