Privacy Policy

1. Local Project Data

Unlike many animation platforms, Stick Studio Pro does not upload your projects, animations or actor settings to our servers. Everything is stored on your device using browser local storage. We cannot see, access or recover your creative work. Clearing your browser's site data, using private browsing, or switching browsers will remove your local projects, so export your finished animations as video files.

2. Information We Collect

Automatically, when you visit

Page views, session length, device and browser type, approximate region (from your IP address) and the page that referred you. We collect this through Google Analytics and, on free website pages, our advertising partner.

When you create an account

Your email address, plus your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service.

Account status

We store in Firebase's Firestore database whether your free trial or paid Pro plan is active and when it expires. We also store simple flags recording that a welcome email or a trial-ended email has been sent, so you never receive the same email twice.

When you contact us

Anything you choose to send us, such as your email address and message.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, phone number or address unless you give them to us, and we do not receive your card or bank details.

3. How We Use Information

• To run the site and let you sign in and use Pro features you are entitled to.
• To send account emails, such as a welcome message when you sign up and a notice when your 7-day trial ends.
• To understand which features are used so we can improve the tool.
• To show ads on free website pages and measure how they perform.
• To answer support requests and to keep the service secure.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (for non-essential cookies and personalized ads), on the need to provide the service you asked for (accounts and Pro access), and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to record which pages are visited. Where the law requires it (such as under the GDPR or ePrivacy rules) we ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies, and you can withdraw consent at any time in your browser or device settings.

5. Advertising

Our website (stickstudiopro.com) shows advertising served by Mediavine, currently as a footer ad unit. Mediavine and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to collect information about your visits to this and other sites, in order to serve relevant ads and measure performance. See Mediavine's privacy policy for details.

There are no ads inside the Pro Studio editor, including the packaged app distributed through the Microsoft Store. Ads appear only on free website pages.

We may apply to additional ad networks, which could include Google AdSense. If we do, this policy will name them before they go live.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads, the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), Your Online Choices (EU) or YourAdChoices (Canada).

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and see which features, such as 1080p rendering or the Cinema editor, people use most. Analytics data is aggregated and, where possible, anonymized or pseudonymized.

7. Payments

Pro plans are bought only on stickstudiopro.com, and payment is processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy. We do not receive, process or store your card, bank or full payment details. Nothing is sold in the Microsoft Store: the Store app is free, and Microsoft only handles the download.

8. Emails We Send

We send account emails, such as a welcome message when you create an account and a notice when your free trial ends. These are sent through a Google Apps Script service that receives your email address for this purpose. We do not use your email address for third-party advertising.

9. Chat Assistant

The on-site chat assistant runs in your browser. Your questions are answered from a knowledge file on our site and are not sent to our servers or to an AI provider. Your chat history and settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. The assistant can also offer an optional on-device AI model. It is downloaded to your browser only if you click to install it, and the download comes from a third-party file host, which can see the request in the normal way any website host would.

10. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share limited data with the service providers that make the site work: Google (Firebase, Analytics, Apps Script), PayPal (payments), and Mediavine and its advertising partners (ads on free website pages). Sharing data with ad partners for advertising may count as "sale" or "sharing" under some laws, such as California's, and you can opt out as described in Section 5 and Section 12. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

11. Retention and Security

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account exists, and delete it when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep it. We use trusted providers with standard security measures, but no online service can promise perfect security.

12. Your Privacy Rights

EU/UK/EEA (GDPR): you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to receive a copy of it, and to object to processing, including for advertising. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you can ask what personal information we collect, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Canada, Brazil and elsewhere: residents of regions with comparable laws, including PIPEDA and LGPD, can ask to access, correct or delete their data.

To make a request, email us using the address in Section 16. Because your projects are not on our servers, deleting "your data" from us covers your account record, analytics and ad cookies. To remove local animations, clear site data for stickstudiopro.com in your browser.

13. Children's Privacy

Stick Studio Pro is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in some regions, such as 16 in some EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly serve personalized ads to users who identify as under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Stick Studio Pro shows age ratings such as IARC 3+ and ESRB Everyone. These ratings describe the content of the app. They do not mean the service is directed at children. Accounts and paid plans are intended for people who are at least 13 (or the minimum age in their country), and users under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission before buying a plan.

14. International Data Transfers

Our analytics, sign-in, email, payment and advertising partners, including Google and PayPal, may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses put in place by those partners.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date above. Continuing to use the site or apps after an update means you accept the updated policy.
